I get what you were trying to do and I suppose in someways you did succeed. It is quite the "anti-game" however it is not a very interesting execution of the idea. It would have been more amusing if the save points were more often at the very least because even when the point is to be annoying, there's a limit before people will simply not finish playing it.
No one else to have noted this so I will. The audio and the video in the last fifth or so of the video did not synch correctly. Maybe something is messed up in my flash install, I'm not sure but if others have the same issue it should be looked at.
Otherwise great audio! But very bland, lazy animation. It was every single cheap trick to simplify the animation, no mouths, no arms, etc. So while I enjoyed the story and fabulous audio the lack of even attempting to animate most actions detracted from it. Call it a style if you want to but it seems contrived to have a style that avoids the most difficult parts of animation. It has promise and again, the audio was great, humorous, and well recorded, but overall it lacks finish.
I have yet to understand the appeal of these sort of flashes. It doesn't make sense, the production quality is only mediocre, and the sound is poor. Is it cool just because it references Hitler and mocks commercialized Christmas? I don't know but it looks like the sort of thing a combination of bad mushrooms and to much holiday television might cause. Ultimately, I give it a "meh" and a shrug of the shoulders.
Fun but it does get repetitive quickly. And it reminds how bad I am at math. It would be fun with more games in the deck but that could always be added latter. I think its a good kernel to build on.
As for the guy with the clock in 12 vs 24... it doesn't ask or tell you am or pm. How is that even an issue? It is pretty obviously 12...
An excellent flash! Well developed art style, unique interpretation of clock-day, coherent, all in all great! It was well book-ended with the intro and end and I enjoyed your choice of coloration and movement for the devil. It added a nice otherworldly feel. Again, wonderful!
Nothing new, nothing to set it apart. Technically valid but boring and repeated use of high-speed voice filters gets very old fast. So I give it a 5/10. Completely average.
Wonderful use of a biblical story! I'm not use to seeing such attention to detail in accuracy on Newgrounds. The blended settings worked surprisingly well and meshed without disrupting the WSOD (willing suspension of disbelief) which is noteworthy. The animations were clever and enjoyable. (I do wonder why Samson was not shown with dreadlocks in the earliest scenes as he was said to have seven great locks but is shown with them in later ones. But that is just a quibble.)
I would note that the sound quality and use of sound effects seems to tapper off at the end. They sound flatter and are used perhaps to sparingly. Again, it is a minor thing.
Very nice though and I'm glad you did not try to make it preachy or get heavy handed. Kudos.
The music and video were very complimentary, which I applaud. As an experimental piece I would say it is successful. Personally find highly experimental pieces usually unsatisfying as they leave you without a definite direction but this film did a better than normal job in maintaining an emotional state and artistic direction.
Ultimately for an art style that is not one I normally I like, it was very good. I commend you on it and hope you keep working towards perfecting your expression.
Better than most Weebl films by far. The characters all were surprisingly well developed despite the short, repetitive nature of the film. The song is obviously the highlight of the film as a great example of electronic self-spoof music. Though I feel bad for all the synth companies that got left out. Poor Alesis and others.
I am curious what synths were used in making the song. I'd guess a yamaha.
Now I plan to go spike my hair and dye it purple now, just so I to can be like the electro gypsy.
You get a few points for doing something topical and relevant. But as people have said the animation was lazy and ill lip-synched. However, given that it was made with a message more in mind than an artistic statement I'll call it a 7/10.
However the reviews on this movie make me a die a little inside. I can't believe I read some of that junk. For those people, here's something to keep in mind: no one cares what your political opinion is. So shut up and just review the movie.
